Restaurants: Souen, the food there always feels like a warm hug. I get the Jappa soup, kale salad, my husband gets their pad thai and we both love the Yuba skins. I don’t eat tofu that often but once a while I will get that. I also love the Kinpira and seaweed salad; Hu Kitchen, it’s so fun to go there. I love Westville. I love their sides. Their veggie burger is ridiculous; I don’t even want to ask what’s in it. I think they deep fry about it. I did once ask about the artichokes and they’re not fresh so that sort of ruined it for me. I like Kotobuki, it’s across from the Smith. That’s a totally indulgence; Jennifer’s Way for sweets and I love Rosemary’s.

Market:  Commodities

Spas: There’s an inexpensive massage place from me called Keisy. It’s scary in there. I just roll the dice every time I go in. Great Jones Spa is great when I can spring for it.  I do the Russian Bath once in a while. In the winter, Scott and I will go together.

Beauty:  Live Live Organic. I go there and get schooled there. The owner is basically a Zen master and knows everything. I go to Tease, they’re all Asian hairdressers, they’re all really mean. Sam, his haircut is like $40. He’s awesome. For skincare like Dr. Alkidis, and hair I like Arcona

There’s one facialist at Bloom, I’ll go to her once in a while. She’s called the Goddess of Skin, her name is Dayle Breault. She charges $250 but I’ll get that once a quarter. She does low level microdermobasion without you needing to go the derm but I see the difference. I try to quit her but I can’t.

Gyms: Soul Cycle. I love Yoga Vida in the city. I could not make it through an hour yoga class before but I’ve learned that I need to flow. I need to breathe.

Zen: A run on the East River is a big check-in for me. When I’m running and it’s sunny and the water is sparkling, I could almost cry, it’s just everything for me. I also do need a day in the park, I’ll go to Washington Square Park and just lay on the grass to people watch and breathe. That’s my favorite thing.

Escape: My real way to reboot is that I’ll go to Vermont. My family has had a house there my whole life and I grew up playing in the woods, playing in the creek, I could ski since I could walk. The house is all wood, it’s all bright light, trees, lush and green. Every ounce of my skin breathes and lets go when I’m there. I feel so rested there.
